All posts by Haysmart slow feeding haynets for horses

HaySmart was created after our owner, JoAnne Judd, realized that there was a better way to care for her horses. She studied the literature on slow feeding, spoke with veterinarians and Olympians, then created her unique and safe hay net. When local interest increased, she started HaySmart, an eco-friendly Canadian company that has the superior health of your animal in mind. This product is amazing, as it works equally well for horses that need to eat a lot as it does for the easy-keeper.

Happy Canada Day

Happy Canada Day to everyone.. We live in the most amazing country!  I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.  It has been very dry in my area and I am soaking the hay in the haynets to ensure that my girls are staying hydrated.  Remember that there is no dye, so no potential of dye leaching into their feed.

A gentleman came up to me at one of my shows.  He had read that white netting was either bleached or dyed white.  I can guarantee that this is not true.  I feed my horses from these nets too and would never compromise their health either.  I welcome questions so please feel free to get in touch.

Great Time at the Can Am

I want to thank everyone for dropping by.  It was great to hear all the good feedback from happy customers!!  I would like to address a couple of questions that people had.  My nets are UV resistant and dye and bleach free!!  I wouldn’t feed my horses or your horses out of anything else!  I really enjoy answering questions and helping people, so please get in touch if I can help in any way.  It was another successful show for HaySmart, and I want to thank all of my old and new customers!

Can Am Equine April 1-3

Well, it’s a very exciting time.  The Can Am Equine show is fast approaching.  It is held at the Markham Fairgrounds from April 1-3.  There is something for everyone and a great show.  There are educational opportunities, shows and a great variety of vendors.  I really look forward to seeing my customers from previous years.  It’s our yearly catch up!!!  Please stop by and see us!  We will be at booth 249, the same location as last year.  See everyone soon!

Ottawa Farm Show

HaySmart will be at the Ottawa Farm Show.  It is at the EY centre near the Ottawa International airport from March 8 to March 10!!  CCWG also known as the Canadian Co operative Woolgrowers will be in Hall 2, booth #1915.  They will be carrying HaySmart haynets.  I will be there on Wednesday, March 9.  Looking forward to seeing everyone!!

Cold Weather Feeding

It’s a great time to be using slow feeding haynets.  The horses can have constant access to food and keep themselves warm.  I love watching the horses picking away calmly at their nets!  A good way to keep them moving is to use multiple nets hung in different locations.  If you have any questions, please email or call.  I’m always happy to help!
